My name is Stephen Scoggins, and I own and operate Custom Home Exteriors and CHE Renovations. Over the past 10 years, CHE has made it our mission to provide quality, excellence, and integrity to each of our customers. In order to understand why these values are so important to our company, it is necessary to understand how we began.
I am a fourth generation construction builder, and with the help of my father and grandfather was reading blueprints by the age of 12. As a 16 year old, I was running residential home framing crews for Myrick Construction and in charge of a team of six builders twice my age. Even then, I commanded the trust and respect of those individuals working under me. This trust and respect gave me the confidence that someday I could have my own company. At the age of 22, while living in a single-wide trailer, I started Custom Home Exteriors with nothing more than a tool belt. I remodeled my first four homes in a down market, and completed those homes without a single helper to save money for the tools I would need in the future. Each time I put on that tool belt I was working toward the vision of what CHE is today. As time passed, this vision has come to fruition and the company has grown into one of the most active and successful renovation companies on the east coast. Today, Custom Home Exteriors and CHE Renovaitons employs more than 120 individuals and is blessed to have developed an extensive team of expert craftsmen, skilled managers and a fully dedicated staff of servicemen and women who strive to provide excellence for each one of our customers. I am blessed to have, by the grace of God, in less than ten years taken a tool belt and turned it into a $10 million per year company.
Until a year ago, CHE specialized primarily in interior and exterior home installation and construction. Our success in that line of work has lead us to become a preferred contractor of many of the state's major builders, including Lennar, M/I, David Weekley, Pulte and Centex. We now have contracts for a large portion of the new construction in central North Carolina, starting and completing 50 or more projects every week. Each of these Fortune 500 companies relies on Custom Home Exteriors to deliver the value and service required of a contractor to complete these projects. The work our company performs has a reputation of being efficient, reliable, professional, and just as importantly, competitively priced. As an organization, we've also proven our ability to meet the demands, requirements and standards which make large renovations successful.
Custom Home Exteriors and its divisions are fully bonded and insured for residential and commercial construction, fully licensed as general contractors, and have received an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We are also the Preferred Remodeler of central North Carolina for James Hardie. All our installation crews and staff attend regular training sessions with James Hardie representatives, which allow us to stay informed of new products and best-practice installation methods. In any project, it is important to ensure each material used is properly installed using the latest techniques, while also following all the manufacturer's guidelines. Our relationship with many of the nation's leading manufacturers allows us product and technical support not afforded to most contractors.
As with any successful business, the majority of our success can be attributed to our customers. Without their satisfaction and loyalty, the achievements we've reached these last ten years would not have been possible, and because of this CHE places the utmost priority on customer service. We take pride that our staff never takes short cuts, we keep our promises, and should a problem arise we attack it, offering immediate solutions. Using creative problem solving and an established customer resolution policy, we've been able to assure every customer we do business with a positive experience.
